President calls for expansion of Iran, Azerbaijan ties

President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday has called for closer ties with Azerbaijan in a meeting with Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry.

President describing two countries relations as historic, he said it is expected the two sides to help further broaden political, economic and cultural ties.
President pointing to friendly relations between Iran and Azerbaijan said that we should not allow third countries to disrupt the close relations between Tehran – Baku.
Describing terrorism as a very dangerous threat for the regional countries, President Rouhani underlined that terrorism is a contagious disease, which is stationed behind the borderlines of the countries.
If the regional countries do not remain united, every moment these germs (terrorists) may enter into their states, he added.
President noting that “Middle East faces many security problems”, said that for many years stability does not exist in Caucasus; in Middle East also we are seeing many problems in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.
President has expressed concern about Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people's rights and said conditions that occurred in Gaza in recent months, showed that the Zionist regime is not bound by any of the provisions of international humanitarian principles.
Dr.Rouhani said that we as Muslims should be sensitive towards the rights of our Muslim brothers in the region and help them.
President said that Iran have sent humanitarian aid and medical facilities for the people of Gaza since Iran Landing permits were issued in Cairo.
Shahin Mustafayev for his part conveyed the warm greetings of Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev and said there exists satisfactory relations between the two countries and Azerbaijan is determined to further broaden cooperation with Iran.
He underscored that Azerbaijan and Iran have witnessed expansion of relations during the recent months.
Referring to the meeting of Iranian and Azeri presidents on the sidelines of the Davos summit, he stressed the command of Azeri President to the development of cooperation with Tehran in all sectors, including energy, communications and of information technology, oil, economy and finance, construction and urban development and agriculture.
