President at the Astana airport:

Expansion of Iran, Kazakhstan cooperation to be discussed

President Hassan Rouhani, who arrived in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, at the invitation of his Kazakh counterpart, said at the airport that expansion of bilateral ties is the axis of his talks.

President Rouhani, who is heading a high ranking politico-economic delegation, was received by Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov at the airport.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev will officially welcome President Rouhani in Akorda Palace on Tuesday morning.
At the airport, President Rouhani expressed pleasure with visiting friendly and brotherly country of Kazakhstan, adding that he had good meetings with his Kazakh counterpart in Bishkek and Shanghai and will discuss past agreements as well as ways to expand ties between Tehran and Astana on Tuesday.
Referring to abilities of both countries for expansion of cooperation, Dr.Rouhani expressed hope that the visit could be a good beginning for development of all-out relations between the two countries.
Kazakhstan Foreign Minister also said that considering Iran's importance in the world and region, President Nazarbayev attended the oath taking ceremony of President Rouhani, adding that we are interested to expand bilateral ties with Iran.
Referring to presence of Iran's large economic delegation, Idrissov said that the delegation and officials indicated interest of both countries to expand cooperation, especially in the economic field.
He underlined that, Iran with its history and extraordinary abilities in the fields of industry and science can attract everybody in the world and during this visit, Kazakh businessmen will also discuss issues of interest with the Iranian delegation.
