President in Sistan and Baluchestan province

President Hassan Rouhani left here Tuesday morning for Zahedan, capital of the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

During his two-day stay, President Rouhani is to meet local residents, officials and war veterans.
He is also to visit cities of Zabol and Chabahar located respectively in north and south of the province.
Upon arrival, the President was warmly welcomed by a number of local officials in Zahedan airport.
Addressing a gathering of local people in his third provincial tour , president Rouhani stressed that all Iranians are equal and there is no such thing as second-rate citizen in the country.
He further noted that according to the Iranian Constitution there is no discrimination against any tribe, religion or gender in the country.
President said Iran will steadily pursue its scientific and technological progress.
He stressed that the Iranian nation has been subject to unjust sanctions and faced many problems in recent years.
He said that due to support and wise guidance of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and cooperation of the nation, the anti-Iran sanctions will be removed soon.
President said that his administration plans to construct a special petrochemical zone in the southeastern Iranian city of Iranshahr in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
President said the government is deeply concerned with supplying natural gas to the cities of Zahedan and Khash. President Rouhani added that gas will be supplied to the regions by the next Iranian year to March 2015.
The president also noted the start of feasibility studies for construction of a petrochemical zone in Iranshahr with reliance on private investments and government support.
He noted the vast potentials of the province goods transit to various parts of the world, stating the province should become the conduit for the transfer of cargos to the northern parts of the country from the sea of Oman and the Indian Ocean.
President Rouhani said an important achievement of Iran today is the fact that the world is admitting the right of the nation to pursue nuclear technology, thanks to the nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the 5+1.
He said Iran will surely proceed with its negotiation program step-by-step.
Dr.Rouhani reiterated that, “We will go forward step by step in the negotiations and will prove to the world that what had been said about Iran in the past were mere lies.”
“Iran has never sought and will never seek nuclear weapons,” the president said, adding that the country is determined to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
He said the Iranian nation is determined to prove to the world that what was said about Iran in the past were nothing but lies.
President Rouhani said that in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Constitution there was no difference among the different ethnics and religious sects and “there is no 2nd citizen in Iran but meritocracy works in Iran.”
Dr.Rouhani asserted that he was pleased to see Shiites and Sunnis among the government officials and both women and men managers worked together there.
President offered all Iranian nations’ gratitude to all Shiite and Sunni officials and tribal leaders who helped the guards’ release.
