At a joint press conference with Azeri president:

President hails development ties with Azerbaijan

President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday has hailed the relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, saying that Tehran views its ties with Baku as brotherly and friendly.

Dr.Rouhani made the remarks at a joint press conference with his visiting Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
Rouhani stated that friendly relations between Iran and neighboring Azerbaijan would benefit the two nations as well as regional stability.
President Hassan Rouhani stressed that no change will be acceptable in regional geopolitics.
President Rouhani voiced Tehran’s readiness to help solve regional problems including that of the Karabakh region within the frameworks of international laws and justice.
ˈAll must help settle disagreements through diplomatic and peaceful ways, ˈ said the President.
He added that President Aliyev also stressed Iran’s legitimate nuclear rights during their bilateral talks which took place at Saadabad Historical Cultural Complex where the two presidents discussed issues of mutual interest.
The Azeri president,for his part, said Baku attaches great importance to Tehran’s support for the issue of Karabakh.
President Alyev who arrived here this morning at the invitation of President rouhani, stressed the need to maintain Azerbaijanˈs territorial integrity.
President Aliyev said that Tehranˈs approach towards the Karabakh issue was fair and well-founded.
