Oman, Iran sign MoU to enhance environmental protection, conversation of natural

The MoU was signed from Oman's side by Mohammed bin Salim al-Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs, whilst it was signed from the Iranian side by Masuma Ibtikar, Vice-President, Head of the Environment Protection Organization.

The Government of Oman and the Government of Iran signed at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs on Thursday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on enhancing cooperation in the fields serving the environment protection and conservation of natural resources on the basis of mutual interests.
The MoU includes cooperation in various fields that include combating marine oil pollution, implementing joint programs in the fields of combating pollution, as well as executing joint programs in biodiversity, bio-safety, environmental tourism and management for environmentally sensitive areas, such as mangroves, coral reefs and sanctuaries, as well as technology transfer on industrial water treatment and hazardous materials management.
