President talking to reporters after returning home from a two-day visit to Oman:

Iran determined to maintain ties with neighbors in favor of regional stability and the entire globe

President Hassan Rouhani underlined that his administration is resolute to maintain relationships with neighboring states, especially the countries of volatile Persian Gulf region, in the interest of stability of the region and the entire globe.

Talking to reporters after returning home from a two-day visit to Oman Thursday, he referred to the objectives of ˈHope and Prudence Governmentˈ for prosperity of Persian Gulf littoral states, underlining the need for boosting of cooperation and communications with those countries.
He further noted that during Oman trip, some deals were signed by the two countries, of which memorandum of understandings on gas export, transportation, environment and joint investment in medicine and tourism are the most significant.
Referring to his meeting with the Omani businessmen, he further noted Iran’s situation for foreign investment was explained for them during the meeting.
In a meeting with Muscat University instructors, Iran’s viewpoints on foreign and regional policy as well as bilateral scientific and technological relationships were discussed with them.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Dr.Rouhani said that he visited Muscat to reciprocate the Omani Sultan Qaboosˈ trip to Tehran after he was inaugurated in a ceremony on August 4.
Contending that Persian Gulf is a very sensitive and significant region, President Rouhani said that a large section of his discussions with the Omani officials, especially with the Omani king, pertained to regional issues and which measures should be taken with the eight Persian Gulf and Oman Sea littoral states to maintain regional security and stability.
He underlined promotion of cooperation among the eight countries to witness a better future for the region.
One of the objectives pursed by Iran is paying attention to southern coastlines, particularly Makran coastal strip to attain its due status, he told reporters, noting that the Omani side welcomed many of Iran’s decisions regarding Makran coastlines.
Middle East issues and the situation in the countries such as Bahrain and Yemen were also discussed during meetings with the Omani officials, President Rouhani said.
