Ahmadinejad Atmosphere of friendliness kindness should prevail
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Saturday that tough and unfriendly atmosphere should be replaced by the atmosphere of friendliness and kindness so that the region would live in peace and calm.
President Ahmadinejad, receiving credentials of new Cypriot ambassador to Tehran George Likourgus, said Iran is eager to expand ties and cooperation with Cyprus in all spheres.
"We hope that in light of bilateral and multilateral efforts of the two countries' senior officials, all problems in the region and the world would be peacefully settled," said Ahmadinejad.
Likourgus, briefing the president on regional conditions, said for his part that Cyprus is willing to further expand its
"traditional and historical" ties and cooperation with Iran.
He said his country supports Iran in international forums and is ready to upgrade mutual ties.
