President terms Iran-Malaysia ties excellent

President Hassan Rouhani said in Tehran on Tuesday that Iran and Malaysia have excellent relations and that the Islamic Republic of Iran is well-prepared to expand economic cooperation with Kuala Lumpur.

Speaking to the speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of the Malaysian parliament, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Pandikar Amin Haji Mulia in Tehran on the sidelines of the 9th conference of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, President Rouhani said Iran and Malaysia will also expand cooperation for solidarity of the Muslim World and campaign against terrorism.
He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is well-prepared to develop economic cooperation with Malaysia.
ˈI hope a new start for further movement in the Iran-Malaysia relations.ˈ
President Rouhani said that unity of the Muslim World is very important for Tehran and that any move which will bring about discord among Muslims is unacceptable.
Dr.Rouhani said that extremism is problematic in the Muslim World and that the governments of the Muslim nations should not allow extremism to play a role.
The Malaysian speaker said for his part that Iran would move the path of progress during President Rouhaniˈs tenure.
He said he agreed with Iranian president that Iran and Malaysia should fight extremism.
ˈWe give assurances that we attach special value and importance to friendship between Iran and Malaysia and will not allow small differences to divide us.ˈ
