president said that the ground is quite paved for making invetments in every possible economic field in Iran
President responding to a question on his assessment about holding several important meetings in Switzerland said that holding conferences on important issues with international characters in Switzerland shows an admirable independence, democracy, peaceful environment and safe conditions for coefficient of votes in this country.
Responding to a question on Geneva-2 confab, president Rouhani said that Iran seeks the establishment of peace and stability, the end of war and the fight against terrorism in Syria.
“Reaching a conclusion will be very difficult but my wish is that if all efforts go in the direction of the wishes of the Syrian people, that is the direction that should prevail.”
“As to whether this conference can achieve its objectives, I have a lot of doubt,” he added.
President Rouhani said, “I believe that only Syrian people are allowed to decide and nobody else can pass a judgment on the future of Syria.”
“Decision-making is for the Syrian people to do and they are the ones who should determine their own future, and in doing so, the first condition is that bloodshed be stopped and certain countries give up supporting terrorism,” the president added.
Dr.Rouhani went on to say that countries advocating the terrorists in Syria will undoubtedly fail to achieve their objectives, which, he said, is expanding their influence in the region at the very least.
The Iranian president further warned that the scourge of terrorism would haunt back those countries that are now sponsoring it.
Asked whether there could one day be a US embassy again in Tehran instead of the Swiss embassy representing US interests in Iran, the president told : “No animosity lasts eternally, no friendship either lasts eternally. So we have to transform animosities into friendship.”
he said relations with Washington had been difficult in the past but with hard work and efforts by both sides, problems could be overcome.
“This effort is necessary to create confidence on both sides. Iran is in fact stretching out its hand in peace and friendship to all countries of the world and wants friendly, good relations with all countries in the world,” the president said.
