President meets Mahathir Mohamad

President Hassan Rouhani appreciated former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad’s presence at his oath taking ceremony, saying foreign guests’ presence, and particularly the Malaysian delegation’s presence, added to event’s splendor.

President Rouhani in his Sunday night meeting with the former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad viced Iran’s will to expand ties with the Muslim and friendly country of Malaysia.
The president referred to the expanding bilateral relations between Iran and Malaysia, asking for the ever more expansion of comprehensive bilateral cooperation.
Mahathir Mohamad, too, in the meeting congratulated President Rouhani for winning the 11th Islamic Republic of Iran presidential election, expressing the hope that the two countries’ relations will further expand in the future to secure both nations’ interests.
He also described the two countries’ economic relations as “good and expanding.”
