Dr.Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with visiting Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov,"Through expansion of bilateral cooperation in international and regional arenas, the two countries can take effective steps towards progress and establishment of peace and brotherhood in the region.

He referred to Iran-Turkmenistan ties as excellent and growing.

He said the two countries have participated in several joint projects which would help bolster all-out bilateral cooperation.

Meredov, too, referred to Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railroad project as a major regional project.

The Turkmen foreign minister then called for fostering all-out ties with Iran in transportation, economic and energy fields.
