President Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with the Agriculture, Industries, and Mining Work Group of Gilan Province in the presence of his cabinet ministers and provincial officials.

He further reiterated, 'In confrontation with the plots hatched by the enemies aimed at imposing pressure against our country's national economy we need to resort to the other capabilities and potentials of Iran, particularly in agricultural and mining fields as the full activation of these sectors would beyond doubt make the Iranian nation quite invulnerable.'

The president emphasized the need for revival and strengthening the potentials of Gilan province in agricultural and mining fields, adding, 'The agricultural and mining sectors of Gilan province have numerous capacities, taking advantage of which would not only lead to progress and development of Gilan province, but would also rapidly uproot the unemployment problem in the province.'

President Ahmadinejad at the meeting also emphasized the need for taking full advantage of the potentials of the Caspian Sea and reviving them.

A report on capabilities of Gilan province in agricultural and mining fields was presented at the session and the proposals of the work group for taking full advantage of the potentials of the province aimed at accelerating the advancement and development process of the region were surveyed and related decisions were made.
