
Dr.Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Kyrgyz Envoy:
Iran backing for Kyrgyzstan's Progress
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underlined cultural commonalities of Iran and Kyrgyzstan, and stressed that Tehran supports the Central Asian state's move towards progress.
Dr.Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with Kyrgyz Envoy to Tehran Madat Khan Shrimkolov on Monday evening.
President Ahmadinejad said common cultural origin is the reason behind the "sense of friendship" between the two countries.
He stressed the necessity for the further expansion of the relations between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, and noted, "We see Kyrgyzstan's progress and dignity as our own progress and dignity and we are sure that the nation and government of Kyrgyzstan have a similar feeling towards the Iranian nation and government."
"We are glad to see that Kyrgyzstan is calmly moving on the path of progress, and the Islamic Republic of Iran will be right beside you on this path."
During the meeting, Shrimkolov praised the Iranian government's determination to expand bilateral ties, and added that "good grounds" are ready for the further promotion of mutual cooperation.
