President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated on Tuesday the largest combined cycle power plant in the Middle East built in Pakdasht district southwest of the Iranian capital.

The 2,868-MW power plant was built with a two-billion Euro budget in an area of 194 hectares.

The project was completed in two phases which took 11 years.

President Ahmadinejad inaugurated the second phase today.
