
President before leaving for Pakistan:
Considering intl. developments and the need for coordination and joint policy planning by D8 group
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed on “Considering international developments and the need for coordination and joint policy planning, the Pakistan summit is very important."
The president told reporters before leaving for Islamabad to attend the eighth summit meeting of the Group of Eight Developing Countries that the members of the group are influential “economically, scientifically and culturally.”
Dr.Ahmadinejad says the upcoming meeting of the Group of Eight Developing Countries in Pakistan is highly important due to current international developments.
Dr.Ahmadinejad expressed hope all D-8 member countries would take important decisions on expansion of cooperation among themselves and having stronger presence in international form.
He said he would visit Pakistan at the official invitation of his Pakistani counterpart to take part in the D-8 Summit.
D8 group is comprised of Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Egypt, Bangladesh and Indonesia.
