At a joint press conference:
Iran and Vietnam presidents emphasize on expanding ties
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran and Vietnam are determined to enhance the level of their bilateral cooperation in all areas.
He made the remarks at a joint press conference with Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on Friday.
Dr.Ahmadinejad said that there is no limitation for the expansion of economic, industrial, cultural, scientific, and technological relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Vietnam, and added, “Iran is determined to make use of the huge potential of the two countries to develop each other’s economies.”
“Surely, the expansion of ties between Iran and Vietnam benefits nations of the two countries and it will also benefit the global peace and security. Remembering the name of Vietnam and the nation of this country has also been accompanied with dignity and honor for Iranians,' President Ahmadinejad said.
Pointing to the holding of the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Tehran in late August and active participation of Vietnam in that summit, president noted that the approvals of the summit are actually the joint ideals and wishes of (NAM nations that can pave the way for introduction of the world’s future order.
“The slogan and approvals of the summit are joint ideals and wishes of the (NAM) nations. We can take positive steps forward by using this potential and expansion of political cooperation in designing and introducing the future world order, because the world seriously needs new world order. Fortunately Tehran and Hanoi have common views in this regard,” President Ahmadinejad added.
He noted that both Iran and Vietnam have suffered a lot from the existing unilateral order.
However, President Ahmadinejad said that the countries can move towards development by expanding their bilateral cooperation.
Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, for his part, said that the Vietnamese government strongly believes that the visit of the Iranian delegation of Hanoi is a very suitable opportunity for expansion of all-out ties between the two countries.
Pointing to the fact that Iran has always been an old friend of the Vietnamese government and nation, President Truong reiterated the bilateral cooperation and strengthening the diplomatic, economic and trade relations between the two countries.
The Vietnamese president said that Iran as the rotating head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) can gain access to many good achievements due to its high capabilities and potentials.
“Surely, Iran can have many good achievements during its presidency over the Non-Aligned Movement due to its potentials and capabilities,” he added.
