Inauguration of construction operation of 10,000 housing units, the Bandar Abbas-Sirjan highway project and the third steel manufacturing company with the capacity of producing 1,854,000 tons of sponge iron a year was among projects opened by the President.

On Bandar Abbas-Sirjan highway project, a provincial official said the 242-km road has cost some 2,600 billion rials.

The direct reduction steel factory named Kaveh which was developed by $1.4bln budget will create 1,300 jobs in the region.

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Bandar Abbas Saturday evening to inaugurate several development projects.
