President in a meeting with Turkish Premier:
The only solution to the crisis in Syria is building a national consensus and holding free elections
Referring to the ongoing unrest in Syria, President Ahmadinejad stated that the only solution to the crisis in Syria is building a national consensus and helping Syrians hold free elections.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met and conferred with Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan here on Tuesday.
The meeting took place at the sideline of the 12th summit meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
The two officials discussed bilateral relations and reviewed regional and international development during the meeting.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan underscored his country's enthusiasm for the further development of relations with Tehran in all fields.
"The two countries enjoy abundant capacities for the further expansion of bilateral ties and Turkey is after the consolidation and strengthening of these relations," said Erdogan.
