
President prior leaving Tehran for Azerbaijan and Kuwait:
ECO members can meet most of their economic needs
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday that member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization can meet most of their needs especially the economic ones through cooperation.
He told reporters before leaving Mehrabad airport to Baku to attend the 12th Summit of heads of State of ECO, slated for October 16.
He said that Iran, Turkey and Pakistan are the founding members of the ECO, calling for further expansion of regional cooperation.
He said Iran as a main member state has kept good relations with all 10 member states especially on political, cultural and economic fields.
President Ahmadinejad said Iran has offered different proposals to upgrade and economically improve ECO while the world economy is under the control of capitalism.
“ECO member states must exercise vigilance not to be affected with world economic and financial crisis," Dr.Ahmadinejad added.
