President Ahmadinejad told a press conference attended by domestic and foreign reporters in Tehran.
President Ahmadinejad said that the world is on threshold of big overhaul and the international community is entering a new period which all the social and political relations are rapidly subject to drastic changes.
He said, “We are heading towards a new order and the great Iranian nation is shouldering a grave and valuable duty in the developments of international community and its governance.”
President Ahmadinejad said that Iran advocates the international community to eradicate poverty, backwardness, discrimination and humiliation.
He cited the 16th Non-Aligned Movement Summit of Leaders in Tehran and the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly as the two major events of the international community.
NAM summit in which over 120 world countries took part to voice their significant role in administration of global developments should be heeded, he said.
At UN General Assembly, the Islamic Republic of Iran properly voiced Iran's views as well as that of NAM on assuming a part in governance of the United Nations, he said.
On national issues, he said that it is about 60 years that the ill-wishers and enemies did their best to hinder the country's success and progress.
"I am quite confident that the Iranian nation will pave the path with success and attain pick of success and economic development," he said.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that there is no economic justification for recent fluctuations in foreign exchange market, noting that the Central Bank of Iran has necessary foreign exchange reserves for imports.
Dr. Ahmadinejad said foreign exchange fluctuations are not something new, rather such a problem had existed before but now it has escalated.
He noted that two factors have been involved in the fluctuations which are external and internal variables.
“Enemy has banned Iranian crude oil exports which are a key source for foreign exchange income and the second and the worst factor is cutting banking relations. That's in fact a hidden and extensive war spreading worldwide.
The President continued, “Our colleagues at the Central Bank and related institutions will try to find ways to tackle the problem.”
President dismissed the attempts to cut Iranian oil income, terming it a sort of battle, in vain hoping to deal a blow to the Iranian nation.
President touched on imports in the first six months of the year and said it rose in weight but lowered in value, reaching 19,121,000 tons from 17,840,000 tons in the same period the previous year.
He said the imports fell by 10 percent this year reaching $22.5 billion from 26 billion dollars last year.
He said planning is underway to be implemented by Central Bank of Iran to open up Letters of Credit for registering orders with foreign suppliers.
President Ahmadinejad said that the Iranian nation will not be hold any dialogue with the US under force and pressure, believing that necessary conditions should be provided for the purpose.
President Ahmadinejad said if they believe the Iranian nation can be dragged into the negotiating table through bad-temperedness and pressure, they are mistaken. “If they expect such a thing to happen, they should rectify their behavior.”
He went on to say that Iran is busy holding talks with the G5+1 on its nuclear issue and as for talks with the US, necessary conditions should be provided first. “Internationally, dialogue and understanding is the principle of relationship but relationship, dialogue and understanding should be provided under fair conditions.”
He insisted that Iran will not back down from its nuclear rights.
On the US move to remove the MKO from its terrorists list, the President said the goal behind the move covers a broad range of issues.
Dr. Ahmadinejad said that the noble Iranian nation never adopts offensive approach.
He referred to recent threats made by prime minister of the Zionist regime at the UN and said that's the outcome of current global administration and management.
They have brought a group of uncultured Zionists to power and let them pose threats to others, he said.
"The global management should be amended otherwise such problems will persist."
The duty of the Iranian nation is clear, he said adding that the great Iranian nation never attacks others but has been a very good defender, a defender who has disappointed all aggressors through giving deadly response to the invaders.
"Where is Saddam Hussein, the Iranian nation are not concerned about these threats. Iranians will never leave the scene," he said.
The enemies have waged psychological warfare but some uninformed people act in coordination with the psychological warfare masterminded by the enemies, he said.
"My analysis is that the US administration has reached the conclusion that they should control the Zionist hardliners," he said.
He advised them to mind their own business not to lose ground through adventurism policies.
The Americans have claimed that they will put more political pressure and toughen sanctions on Iran, asked one reporter and the president replied "Our reaction is clear; we will stand shoulder to shoulder by the Iranian nation to defend their rights as well as national sovereignty."
Their plots have already been thwarted but if they tried the plots once again, there is no problem, he said.
President Ahmadinejad said Dialogue, understanding and cooperation are prerequisite for international relations.
“If the US corrects its behavior, it will receive positive response from the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he noted.
He said the Iranian nation can not be against dialogue and Washington must prepare the ground for dialogue on mutual respect.
President Ahmadinejad reaffirmed Iranian friendly sentiments to new Egyptian government.
President Ahmadinejad made the remark when he was asked about Iranian stance about new Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.
“Series of events have taken place in Egypt; we should wait and see they reach a level of stability in decision and policy making; we are not on the rush. Iranian and Egyptian nations have extensive and historical ties and they will continue with amity.”
President Ahmadinejad said that Iran will help Argentina to bring to justice terrorists behind AMIA bombing.
Responding to question, the President said, “We think investigation of the case should be held in transparency and disclosure of the fact. We are confident that when the investigations fall in a clear and unbiased process, they would result in further expansion of relations between Iran and Argentina.”
Elsewhere in the press conference, he said in response to a question about Israeli Netanyahu painting at the UN General Assembly session that he should practice more to have better painting.
He said that the painting was an insult to the audience, showing their line of approach. "They consider themselves superior to Iranians."
That’s for 33 years that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been threatened by the Zionist regime of Tel Aviv, the so-called advocate of humanity, freedom, human rights and democracy, President Ahmadinejad said.
Since Islamic Iran’s freedom the US has been confronting Iranian nation, said the president, adding that enemies have got angry, raising the level of their threats, which is not at all important.
President said solution to Syrian crisis is national reconciliation, adding that election in that country should be held freely and with mutual understanding of both sides.
Dr.Ahmadinejad made the remark in an answer to a question posed by Lebanese TV network “Al-Mayadeen” reporter.
The reporter's question was on Turkey's premier statement who has asked Iran, Russia and China to revise their stances on Syria.
The president answered that Syrian problem is very important and complicated, adding that Syria is a tribal society, a fact which has made the issue more complicated.
He continued that Iran’s stances are very clear; we have repeatedly declared that justice, freedom, respect and administering the country are among rights of all nations, but there is a difference between us and our friends on way of fulfilling the rights, we say through national reconciliation, but some others believe in war.
Dr.Ahmadinejad stressed that solution to Syrian problem is holding a free election.
'It is people's right to choose their leaders, but it should be through national understanding.'
He continued that friends and leaders who spoke in Justice and Development Party congress are adherent of war, but we cannot tell them what way to choose.
The president reminded that Iran has proposed establishment of a contact group to settle Syrian problem and pointed out that by forming the group we would be able to talk with both sides and convince them for holding free elections and imposing people's vote and intention.
On a question whether Syria problem would be solved if President Assad relinquishes power, the president said Iran does not interfere in other countries' internal affairs and we believe in free elections but it should be held with national reconciliation.
