In a meeting with Chairman of Standing Committee of Chinese National People’s Congress Wu Bangguo, President Ahmadinejad said that Iran and China enjoy longstanding friendly relations citing common cultural grounds adding that there are no negative points in record of Tehran-Beijing ties.

President Ahmadinejad said that Iran and China have common enemies who never wanted to see progress to be made by Iran or China and they resort to every excuse to sabotage Iran-China relations.

“The arrogant powers who have manufactured atomic bombs and used them, they threaten other nations. They are the number one perpetrators of human rights violations, but, they exert pressure on Iran and China under a variety of pretexts – atomic bombs and human rights,” President Ahmadinejad said.

He said that the enemies are prepared to interfere in the slightest issues of other nations. Of course, they are not powerful to the extent they showoff.

“We will do in line with mutual interest regardless of the hostile pressures,” he said.

Dr.Ahmadinejad said that the Islamic Republic of Iran prefers to develop relations with China and considered that the Chinese officials have the same attitude to enhance level of economic cooperation.

The president said that Tehran-Beijing cooperation in international organizations serves national interest and the international peace.

He said that dlrs 45 billion, the current level of trade can reach dlrs 100 billion.

Ahmadinejad said that the two countries have made satisfactory investments in joint projects, calling for the growing trend to go on.

He appreciated the stand China adopted about Iranian nuclear program and said that it emanated from the friendship and deep confidence between the two nations.

“Iran prefers constructive dialogue on nuclear program.”

President Ahmadinejad called for boosting cultural cooperation and holding Cultural Weeks in Tehran and Beijing.

Wu Bangguo said that Iran and China have common history and civilizations adding that the two nations have contributed to culture of the human community adding that developing relations will serve national interest and the international peace and security.

He made it clear that China sees relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran as strategic and that the pressures and regional developments will not affect Tehran-Beijing relations.

The Chinese official said that successful performance of Summit of Leaders of Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran to bring together 120 member states and was landmark and will serve international understanding.

He appreciated Iran’s flexible approach toward Group 5+1 nuclear talk and hoped that the rights of member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency must be respected.
