Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Muscat, capital of Sultanate of Oman on Monday and was warmly welcomed by deputy to the sultan of Oman for cabinet affairs Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Saeed.

According to the pre-planned arrangement, Omani King Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed will officially welcome the Iranian president at Al-Elm Palace in Muscat.

Ahmadinejad and his accompanying delegation are visiting Oman at the official invitation of the Omani monarch.

The president is accompanied by the Presidential Senior Advisor Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mohammad Jahromi and Oil Minister Mohammad-Kazem Vaziri Hamaneh.

Holding discussions with the Omani king, meeting with Iranian nationals and businessmen residing in Muscat, participating in a luncheon to given in his honor by Sultan Qaboos are on the agenda of Ahmadinejad's visit to the Arab country.

The Iranian president is scheduled to leave Muscat for Tehran at the end of his two-day official visit to Oman.

He paid a visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday and held talks with the UAE president on bilateral, regional and international issues.
