He made the remarks in a meeting with Namibian Foreign Minister Utoni Nujoma on the sidelines of the ongoing NAM foreign ministerial session.

Stating that there is no obstacle to promotion of ties with Namibia, Dr.Ahmadinejad also said that there are excellent areas for cooperation.

He also said that Iran is ready to participate in the country’s economic programs to contribute to its progress and development.

Iran appreciates Namibia’s stance in support of the nations’ basic rights, he said.

Describing Iran and Namibia as two independent countries, he said that they want to make progress on their own and have no covetous eye on other countries.

He also pointed out that this is while hegemony has cast a covetous eye on other countries’ assets.

Issuing resolutions and imposing sanctions and creating obstacles for other nations are carried out by those who are incapable and illogical.

Nujoma, for his part, said that his country has always defended Iran’s fundamental rights and it also supports its presidency of NAM.

Referring to the pressures mounted on Iran by the US and western states, he noted that Namibia will help Iran do away with the situation.
