Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in a telephone conversation with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad condoled the sad occasion of death of hundreds of Iranians during deadly earthquake in East Azarbaijan province in northwestern Iran.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in a telephone conversation with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad condoled the sad occasion of death of hundreds of Iranians during deadly earthquake in East Azarbaijan province in northwestern Iran.

The two presidents also emphasized the expansion of bilateral ties while discussing the most important regional issues.

President Ahmadinejad said that the two nations of Iran and Venezuela are brothers and they will stand together in all situations.

He wished progress and prosperity for the Venezuelan nation.

President Hugo Chavez for his part said that Islamic Republic of Iran can rely on Venezuela’s support under all conditions.

“Caracas supports Tehran’s stances regarding establishing peace and stability in the Middle East and the rights of Middle East’s nations,” he added.
