
President in a meeting with Syrian foreign minister:
Arrogant powers want to save the Zionist regime
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said all nations seek justice, respect and freedom, adding that “this is the right of all nations and is very respectable, and must be realized in a proper way.”
President Ahmadinejad made the remark in a meeting on Sunday in Tehran with the visiting Syrian foreign minister, Walid Al-Moallem.
President emphasized that the principal objective of the West and dictatorial régimes in the middle east which are instigating unrest and violence in Syria, and want to overthrow the Syrian government, is to save the Zionist regime of which is teetering on the edge of collapse.
In further comments, President Ahmadinejad hoped that with wisdom and vigilance of the Syrian people and the Syrian government, security and stability would soon be restored to this country.
The Syrian foreign minister, Walid Al-Moallem, for his part conveyed the warm greetings of Syrian president and the Syrian people to the Leader of the Islamic revolution, the Iranian government and the Iranian people, and briefed president Ahmadinejad on the latest events in Syria.
