President Bam a glittering gem at desert s heart
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here in a meeting with quake stricken people of Bam, "Bam is alive, long lasting, and glittering like a gem in the heart of desert." Elsewhere in his address the president said, "Enemies are opposed to the progress and advancement of the Iranian nation, resorting to all possible plots in line with their antagonist policies against us."
He reiterated, "The enemies had better realize that a nation that has managed to reconstruct Bam, that was razed to ground, in the short course of three years, can turn the entire Iran into a model for regional development in a short while."
The IRI President added, "The West is not truly worried about weapons, since their main concern is the Iranian nation's talented and mighty youth."
Addressing the Iranian nation's enemies, Ahmadinejad said, "On behalf of the people of Bam, and as the representative of the Iranian nation, I advise you to get back to the divine path of God's obedience, to respect the nations' rights, to abide by laws, and to abandon selfishness and resorting to force for every matter." The president added, "The Iranian nation is peace loving, pro-dialogue, and law abiding, opposed to violating the slightest bit of the others' rights, and against retreating a bit from its own rights." Ahmadinejad reiterated, "The best thing to do for the Iranian nation's opponents and enemies is to end enmities and to become this noble nation's friends."
He said, "The Iranian nation welcomes negotiations under fair and equal conditions, but it should be born in mind if they would try to impose something against us resorting to force and the language of threats, the Iranians would not yield, and the enemies are deeply mistaken, one day feeling sorry for their mistakes."
