President Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Syrian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham in Tehran on Wednesday.

“Unfortunately, some certain regional states are trying to establish secret relations with Tel-Aviv hoping that such relations could help them remain in power "said the President.

President described as a “blatant lie” claims by hegemonic powers about their efforts to establish democracy, respect nations and give freedom to them

Certain governments have maintained amicable relations with the leaders of arrogant powers while setting up a complete dictatorship in their own countries, he pointed out.

Ahmadinejad said Americans are merely seeking to meet their own interests, but this is a right of regional nations, including the Syrian people, to freely decide on their destiny. The others should not impose their own will on nations.

The Iranian president expressed hope the Syrian people would resolve the ongoing problems in the country and live in peace and security.

Syrian Parliament Speaker, Laham, for his part, said his country is determined to further improve relations with Tehran.
