President in a meeting with family members of Egyptian martyrs:
Egyptian nation pioneers of popular movements, seeking freedom and justice in the world
The president Ahmadinejad described the Egyptian people as “the pioneers of nations’ popular movements in their calls for freedom and justice” and added, “The Iranian nation will support the Egyptian people to the very end and will stand by them in their efforts to achieve their goals.”
He made the remarks in Tehran on Saturday during a meeting with family members of 25 Egyptian martyrs.
He said that the root cause of sufferings of the regional nations is presence of the arrogant powers and the Zionist regime in the heart of the Middle East.
“Since the Zionist regime came to the region, the regional nations have suffered many losses to their prestige. If the roots of the Zionist regime, the US and its allies dry up in the region, the sufferings of the regional nations will end.”
He said that currently more than dlrs 1,500 billion in assets of the Muslim nations are deposited at the western banks, adding that the US and its allies are using the money for their economic growth, but, if a country from the Middle East applies for loan from the western banks, they will require it to undertake a list of demands which violate its national sovereignty.
President Ahmadinejad said that the regional states will attain independence and freedom if the roots of arrogant powers and the Zionist regime dry up in the region and the governments and nations exercise solidarity to reject dependence and move forward towards progress.
He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is well-prepared to help the Egyptian nation meet its needs and would not hesitate to help with the economic development of Egypt, adding that Iran regards progress of Egypt as its own and believes that the Egyptian nation holds the same sentiment toward the Iranian nation.
“If the Iranian and Egyptian nations stand by each other, they will no longer need the arrogant powers. The two nations have every means to go ahead with economic development in light of the God-given natural resources and their strategic situation in addition to ancient-old civilization. They would promote humanity, justice and monotheism and would sacrifice their life for the sacred values.”
“If Iran and Egypt stand together, there is no need for war to root out the domination of the enemies and Zionists, and the news of unity between Iran and Egypt will by itself force the cowardly Zionists to run from the region,” said president Ahmadinejad.
He said that it is for 65 years that the Palestinian nation has been under siege of the criminals by profession and the Zionists have blatantly declared that they will not limit themselves to the occupation of the Palestinian territories and that they are greedily eyeing other territories as well, but, if regional countries stand together, there is no need for war to expel the Zionists and domineering [powers] from the region,” he added.
