He made the remark in a meeting with the China residing Iranians on the sidelines of the 12th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing.

“Iran can play an important role in the new world and this has worried certain powers; hegemonic powers urged eight-year of (the Iraqi) imposed war on Iran as well as other tools including sanctions to prevent Iran’s progress forward but they failed to gain a result and they wont be able to fulfill their anti-Iranian goals.”

President added that Leaders of current world order use every tool including military threats, wars and mass killings to plunder the wealth of nations and their natural resources.

“Any independent nation which protests the current world order would be attacked harshly.”

Beijing is hosting the 12th SCO Summit from June 6-7, which is expected to map out the future of the influential organization that brings together Russia and China, the two permanent members of the UN Security Council, and the energy-rich Central Asian states, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
