
President departs for China to attend SCO summit
President departed Tehran for Beijing on Tuesday morning to take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was officially seen off by the First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi .
President Ahmadinejad is to hold talks with senior officials attending the SCO summit.
Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Shamseddin Hosseini, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari and top Presidential Advisor Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi as well as a number of other senior officials of the country are accompanying the President to China.
China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are the SCO member countries. Iran, India, Mongolia and Pakistan are its observers.
