Addressing a ceremony here in Tehran on Sunday, President Ahmadinejad pointed to the assassination of Iranian scientists in recent years, and said, "The martyrdom of these dear scientists indicates the enemies' maximum fear of Iran's scientific progress."

"They (enemies) are not fearful of our political influence but they rather have problem with the country's scientific growth," he added.

The president further stressed the Iranian scientists' ability to reach the peaks of the scientific progress, and added that Iran now has the highest rate and speed of scientific growth in the world.

"We have the fastest scientific growth in the world and we should feel this pace for the next several years," he reiterated.
