President:
Constructing Iran requires government, nation bilateral cooperation
President Ahmadinejad stressing that all Iranians, wherever they live should participate in the country's affairs, said that constructing Iran requires government and nation bilateral cooperation.
Addressing thousands of enthusiastic people in the Quchan city on Monday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the West should respect the Islamic Republic of Iran if it expects the same.
President Ahmadinejad made the remarks on the threshold of Iran's nuclear talks with G5+1 in Baghdad.
“If the Westerners correct their behavior and respect the Iranian nation, they will receive respect from Iranians in return,” said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
He added: “They should know that the Iranian nation will never retreat from its fundamental rights even one step.”
Dr. Ahmadinejad advised the western states to adopt rationality in dealing with Iran.
The Iranian people know how to deal with the irrationality of the western states if required, he said.
Criticizing the West's military intervention in Iraq and Afghanistan, he said they assumed that they could rescue their ailing economy by attacking Iraq and Afghanistan in retaliation for the destruction of twin towers in the New York, he said.
They are now caught up in a much worse situation which indicates that their plans to target those countries were unwise, he said.
