Addressing the people in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Tuesday, the President underscored that the westerners oppose the progress of the Iranian nation and they do not want the Iranian nation to stand on its own feet.

President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that the Iranian nation will not give in to the illegitimate demands of the western countries and will maintain its strong presence in the global political scene with dignity.

He emphasized that despite all threats and pressures by the western countries; the Iranian nation has taken major steps forward in line with its progress and development and will not accept any injustice.

He added that the westerners are after boycotting Iran’s oil. But the amount of foreign exchange at our disposal is so much that even if not a single barrel of oil is sold for three years, the country will be run in a proper manner and the enemies’ plot will be foiled.

Concerning the ongoing developments in the region, the president emphasized that foreign powers play a key role in causing insecurity in the region by selling arms and weaponry to the countries of the region.
