
President officially welcomed by Pakistani counterpart
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Islamabad on Thursday afternoon and was officially welcomed by his Pakistani counterpart President Asif Ali Zardari.
In the welcoming ceremony, a number of Pakistani officials including the prime minister, foreign minister and minister of interior, minister of commerce, minister of water and electricity, Air Force commander, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and other high ranking officials were present.
The national anthems of both countries were played and the two presidents reviewed the guards of honors.
The two presidents are scheduled to meet and review issues of mutual interest as well as regional and global developments.
