President made the remarks in the glorification congress of registration of Persian passion play on UNESCO's List on Monday morning.



President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Culture and Islamic Guidance ministry and other relevant organs support artists in this arena to promote this popular art in the world through comprehensive plan.



President stating that in drama’s art there are scenes that introduce someone superior than others and as an hero said that in the drama like a Ta'zieh which the all good and evil persons role to transfer message of truth to the humanity, it is a drama to create humanity and Iran is the root of this monotheistic art.



“People love passion play because it runs in their blood,” said the president.



“All it takes is a drum to perform the play and people can watch it even on the street,” he added.



Iran celebrates the successful registration of Persian passion play on UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of urgent safeguarding.



President Mahmoud Ahmadinezhad, and a group of Iranian artists and officials marked the first anniversary of the registration of Persian passion play during a ceremony held in the capital city of Tehran.



The Persian passion play is a ritual dramatic art that recounts religious events, historical and mythical stories and folk tales through poetry, music, song and motion.



Ta'zieh was registered on the UNESCO list during the fifth session of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee in Nairobi, Kenya.



The Persian New Year or Nowruz and the Iranian classical music are the other Iranian events and arts registered on the UNESCO list.
