President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a ceremony of unveiling Euro-4 standard vehicles on Thursday which comply with the latest international standards in reducing air pollution.
Dr.Ahmadinejad said: “Iranian industries should reach a point where every each of them could be considered as a “green industry”.
Saying that pollution rate in the country was decreasing rapidly; he noted that Iran could be considered as one of the best countries in the world in terms of the pace of reducing air polluting factors.
He further hoped that fuels produced in the country could meet all world standards in two years.
The President further stressed that the right to live in a clean environment was a basic human right of all world people and noted that safeguarding the living environment was a general public duty.
Pointing out those two countries where responsible for half of world pollution, he stressed that these two countries refuse to abide by any universal treaties or conventions while every single country and person is responsible for a safe and clean living environment.
However, President Ahmadinejad stressed, Iran is considered as one of the most clean countries in the world.
President Ahmadinejad unveiled the cars during ceremonies on the occasion of the Clean Air Week.
