President made the remarks Tuesday evening in his meeting with Namibian Foreign Minister Utoni Nujoma, underlining that Iran’s policy is to further friendly relations with African states.



“The hegemonic powers are seeking to sow discord among world nations to dominate the globe. The independent countries must help themselves be more successful and influential and not allow those powers to loot them,” said President.



The President said Iran and Namibia serve at the same front, trying to defend their national interests.



He also said there are no restrictions on expansion of ties with Namibia in various fields including the oil and gas sector.



The Namibian foreign minister, for his part, said his country believes that most of the international issues, including the question of Palestine, are interrelated and should be solved to ensure international peace.



In regard to Iran’s technological achievements, Nujoma expressed appreciation and said his country is keen to upgrade all-out relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.



Praising Iran’s support for the African state of Namibia, Nujoma hoped further success for Iran to continue the task of defending the oppressed nations around the globe.
