President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in a live TV interview on Tuesday evening, gave his views on various national and international issues.
The president started his remarks with his trip to New York to attend United Nations 66th General Assembly session and said the aim of establishing the United Nations was solving world problems fairly and managing the world in favor of nations, but the good idea has not worked out yet and the UN has turned into an ineffective organization.
President Ahmadinejad said that the idea of establishing the UN was a human achievement adding that wars, conflicts and dogmatism have caused a lot of damage in the history, until human thought became worldwide and the UN was formed to reform world situation.
With the collapse of the USSR, the USA claimed that there is just one order in the world and called itself the owner of the new order, and so the UN turned into an ineffective organization.
He continued that two important speeches were presented in the UN General Assembly, one by Iran's representative and the other by the US representative.
Dr.Ahmadinejad continued that his speech was very transparent and clear and Iranians stances were welcomed and positively analyzed and caused a vast debate in the USA and the whole world.
Referring to certain media attacks against his speech in the UN, the president said that the questions he posed were very clear and explicit, but they could not hide their discomfort with the speech.
My question was why they killed the main culprit of September 11 event without trial, while they had arrested him.
They did not put on trial the main culprit of September 11 events, so that nobody knew who supported him, Dr. Ahmadinejad said, adding that his next questions were concerning Holocaust and the role of the UN.
President has criticized the presence of US-led foreign troops in the Middle East, saying they escalate instability in the region.
“We are against the presence of the US military forces in the region, and we believe that in order to avoid any encounter, the US forces should leave the region,” he said.
Noting the forces' contribution to regional unease, he said the Islamic Republic, along with its neighbors, were capable of maintaining security in the states bordering the Persian Gulf.
President also criticized the current structure of the United Nations and said the world body was dominated by a few countries.
Replying to a question concerning his viewpoints on establishment of relations with the USA and creation of a direct line with the US fleet in the Persian Gulf, Dr. Ahmadinejad said that our stances are clear and we have repeatedly said that the relations would be conditional.
He said the most important condition for establishing connection between Iran and the USA will be creation of relations upon justice and equal terms.
The president stressed that he had proposed a debate with the US president in the presence of the media and added if they have any logic, we are ready to listen to them.
Concerning establishment of a communication line between Iranian ships and the US fleet in the Persian Gulf, Dr. Ahmadinejad said that the measure was proposed in a meeting to prevent confrontation and 'I said we welcome every method in this concern, but my principled question is what the US fleet is doing in the Persian Gulf?
He added he told them that the US should take its fleet out of the Persian Gulf, so that no problem emerges.
President Ahmadinejad underlined that providing security in the Persian Gulf does not need the US fleet presence here but added that warning systems can be used to prevent clashes between the US fleet and the Iranian ships.
On the country's plans to curb unemployment, Dr Ahmadinejad said the government intended to create 2.5 million new jobs over the course of the current Iranian calendar year -- which started on March 21 --, noting that the plan was a feasible one given the fact that 1.6 million new jobs had been created during the last year.
President further said that the volume of the country's non-oil exports had hit USD 20,481 billion for the first half of the current Iranian calendar year. The figure, he added, would reach around USD 45 billion by the year-end.
