President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Sudanese counterpart Omar Hassan al-Bashir in a joint statement on Monday called for non-interference in the waves of Islamic Awakening movements of the Muslim nations.

'Any interference in the affairs of other countries in the region would make the situation more complicated both in the Middle East region and North Africa,' the statement said.



The two presidents also called on the governments of the Islamic states to respect the legitimate rights of nations and adopt non-violent approach in restoring law and order of their countries.



The two presidents highlighted support for Palestine statehood to be recognized by the United Nations Security Council and said that the issue is among the most significant issues of the international community.



'Islam attaches importance to the real status of Palestine.'



They acknowledged the campaign of Palestinian people to liberate occupied territories and called for unity and solidarity among Palestinians to help defend the cause of Palestine to establish a Palestinian state with holy Qods as its capital and repatriation of Palestinians to their motherland.



The Islamic Republic of Iran and Sudan reaffirmed commitment to Non-Proliferation Treaty and cooperation of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization with International Atomic Energy Agency.



President Ahmadinejad and President Omar Hassan al-Bashir also called for a world free from weapons of mass destruction mainly the nuclear weapons and drew the attention of international community to stockpiles of nuclear arms by Tel Aviv regime which is a real threat to international peace and security and urged the world leaders to take immediate action in this respect.
