President Ahmadinejad’s visit is at the formal invitation of his Tajik counterpart Imomali Rakhmon.



In addition to conferring with the Tajik president on regional issues, President Ahmadinejad is scheduled to sign several agreements on economic cooperation and take part in a joint press conference with the President Rakhmon.



The President is also due to participate in an inauguration ceremony of first turbine of Sangtoudeh II (Sang-Tuda 2) Power Plant that is built and being put into operation by Iranian technicians.
