President Ahmadinejad made the remarks prior to leaving Tehran for Dushanbe, Tajikistan.



He said that some 20 years ago, a number of countries in the region attained independence which paved the way for regional change.



He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran was one of those who recognized independence of the countries in the early days and established friendly and constructive relations with them.



'Tajikistan is among that independent country which has established special relations with Iran.'



The Islamic Republic of Iran has rendered many technical and engineering services to Tajikistan during the period, said the president.



He said that Iranian experts are involved in construction of Sangtudeh-2 power plant project in Tajikistan taking advantage of high technology.



He said that the jointly implemented project of power plant can help generate electricity for the Tajik nation.
