President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad conferred on Monday with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the sidelines of the 4th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC).

President Ahmadinejad and Ban Ki-moon discussed regional and global developments.



President emphasizing that sovereignty belongs to nation said: “No one in the world has the right to impose their will and values to other nations.



Dr. Ahmadinejad pointed out: “The Middle East region is the most important culture and civilization regions in the world, while nations in the region have begun the evolution and revolution are concerned of the interference and binary attitude of Westerners.



Dr. Ahmadinejad added: "The UN with establishing dialogue and negotiations between the opposition and the governments of the region can avoid killing people and stabilize peace and security in the region and the world.



President said: “I wished the UN had banned NATO from interference there.”



The secretary-general highlighted the importance of Iran continuing negotiations with the E3+3 on the country’s nuclear program and cooperating fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency. He also asked the President to cooperate with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, including on a potential visit by the office to the country.
