President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left Tehran for Istanbul, Turkey, Monday morning to attend the 4th UN Summit on Least Developed Countries.

First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi and Supreme Leader's International Affairs Advisor Ali-Akbar Velayati were at the airport to see off the president.
Delivering a keynote speech at the 4th UN Summit on Least Developed Countries and separate meetings with several Turkish officials as well as officials from other participating countries on the sidelines of the event are on the agenda of the president’s day-long visit to Turkey.
The LDC summit is to begin later today and will continue until May 13.
Studying implementation of the previous development plans (devised by 2001-2010) and drawing an action plan for the least developed countries for 2011-2020 set the main agenda of the Istanbul conference.
Participating delegates are to exchange views on development policies, challenges facing the least developed countries as well as strengthening international support for the LDC and setting up a scheme for boosting cooperation among the LDC and their developed partners.
