The President made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani before his departure on Monday.



During the meeting, President stressed: "Tehran and Doha can help regional unity and stability with further cooperation in dealing with major regional and international issues.



He also stressed the two capitals can play a key role in strengthening further unity and integrity among regional states.



President Ahmadinejad also said that Iran and Qatar had an essential role in securing regional peace and stability.



Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-thani said that regional states should stay vigilant against plots made by the enemies to sow discord among Shiite and Sunni Muslims.
