The Third ministerial meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference on women affairs started here Sunday with presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to discuss major issues related to women in Muslim countries.

The Third ministerial meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference on women affairs started here Sunday with presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to discuss major issues related to women in Muslim countries.

The three-day gathering is to discuss the magnificent role played by women in Islamic societies as well as further promotion of women’s constructive participation in various social, economic, political and cultural activities.



Presenting a powerful image of a Muslim woman based on Islamic teachings is one of the major goals of the meeting.



30 Muslim states have agreed to take part in the gathering, including 20 female ministers, deputy ministers and experts.



President and his advisor on women's affairs Maryam Mojtahedzadeh, and the OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu are to deliver speech at the meeting.
