Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva left here on Monday after attending a trilateral meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Teyyip Erdogan to sign a nuclear fuel swap declaration.

Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva left here on Monday after attending a trilateral meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Teyyip Erdogan to sign a nuclear fuel swap declaration.

Lula was also in Tehran to attend the 14th G15 summit, that was inaugurated with a speech by President Ahmadinejad.



Part of the declaration reads, “We reaffirm our commitment to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and in accordance with the related articles of the NPT, recall the right of all State Parties, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, to develop research, production and use of nuclear energy (as well as nuclear fuel cycle including enrichment activities) for peaceful purposes without discrimination.”
