Speaking to the OPEC Secretary General, Abdalla Salem El-Badri, on the sidelines of the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, President Ahmadinejad urged all the world states to contribute to safeguarding global environment.



He said the world imperialistic powers buy crude from the oil rich states at cheep prices and raise their consumption levels, thus contributing to growing air pollution and environment destruction.



He added that at the same time, the said states sell their products to the nations at times high prices.



He hoped that the OPEC will set new plans to ensure justice and interests of nations.



Badri said in turn that he was optimistic that upcoming OPEC session will reach agreement on justified oil prices.
