Speaking to Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on the sidelines of the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, President Ahmadinejad said it will be impossible to reverse the balance of ongoing events and too difficult to change the status quo without cooperation among all the world states.
He said dialogues should be held to find strategies of making the bullying powers committed and be accountable.
He added that controlling the fuel consumption levels and upgrading productivity and consumption patterns will ensure economic growth.
The ongoing tough race among certain countries for exploitation of natural resources is harmful to the world nations, said President Ahmadinejad.
He said long-term droughts, unprecedented freezing cold weather, and dust are the result of the capitalist system’s measures.
He added that certain powers’ cost of war and military build-up should be spent on removal of global problems, climatic conditions and environment protection.
Elsewhere in his remarks, President Ahmadinejad urged expansion of relations between Iran and Singapore and said Tehran is ready to share experience with Singapore City.
The Singapore official said for his part that current global problems are caused by measures and policies of the developed states. In a specified time span and through adopting suitable strategies, measures should be taken for settlement of global problems, added the Singapore Prime Minister.
He added that his country wants to use all capacities available to promote relations and cooperation with Iran.
