President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad urged major polluters of the environment on Thursday to accept and fulfil their international obligations.

"Those who contributed the most to environment pollution should accept international obligations and be committed to them," the president told reporters prior to his departure for Denmark where he is to attend the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference.



He said he is to take part in the conference as Iran attached great importance to the issue of the climate changes which endangered the lives of all peoples and creatures.



President Ahmadinejad who is one of the speakers of the conference later on Thursday, said he is to discuss Iran's proposals for controlling the issue of global warming.



He hoped that the Copenhagen conference would achieve favorable outcomes.
