Iran, Belarus are determined to broaden relations
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that Tehran and Minsk are determined to further broaden mutual relations.
President Ahmadinejad made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting Belarus Minister of Industries Anatoly M. Rucetski.
"There are ample of untapped capacity for economic cooperation which should be explored by both countries. We believe that such an action would help enhance the level of trade and economic cooperation,” President Ahmadinejad said.
Existing barriers in trade and economic cooperation should be removed as soon as possible to help promote constructive cooperation between the two countries, said the Iranian president.
The president said that the capacity for economic cooperation is high requiring the two countries to augment trade ties by ten folds.
The Belarus minister said for his part that ties between Iran and Belarus is of strategic nature and the joint resolve to enhance economic cooperation would be significant for both nations.
He also called for speedy implementation of jointly run projects in both countries.
"The prospect for ties between the two countries is very promising. We will be able to remove barriers to meet the two nations interests.”
